The A98 is uniquely positioned to establish keys simultaneously for both conventional and Remote Re-Key capable ATMs. With the advent of new Encrypting PIN Pads (EPPs) and associated firmware and software for ATMs, the A98-R can utilize public key technology to automatically create a random imaster key and distribute it compliantly to the ATM without the requirement of a person (or persons) having to be on location.

Modifications are necessary in the host software driving the ATMs in order to interface with the A98-R. Most of the changes pertain to the terminal handler’s function as it relates to communicating with remote key capable ATMs. As with conventional ATMs, most Host Software Companies provide a direct interface to the A98-R (Remote Re-Key Module.) Among those are Mosaic, eFunds, S2 Systems, and CV Systems. Other companies are soon to be added to this list. If you currently use one of these companies, contact your sales representative for a quote on a direct interface from them to the A98-R System. If you use proprietary software, as does a number of our current clients, we welcome the chance to share the necessary technical material you would need to directly interface with the A98-R.

If you are a Base 24™ user migrating to ACI's Transaction Security Services (TSS) module, Trusted Security Solutions has taken the initiative to develop an interface to incorporate IFX standards adopted by ACI and is compatible with ACI's ES line of products.

Customers installing the A98RtoB24 Remote Re-Key interface will be taking advantage of the additional development that more directly communicates to the core of the Base 24 system. For key requests for Remote Re-Key enabled ATMs, the A98toBase24 Remote Re-Key interface will use an IP based service to send updates directly to the CSEC database.

Over time and with many different ATMs in the market, a Base 24 customer will be needing the ability to adopt different terminal drivers for Remote Re-Key enabled ATMs as they are made available. The A98RtoB24 interface developed by Trusted Security Solutions contains a Terminal Handler Library and comes standard with one ATM device handler for both NCR and Diebold ATMs. Other terminal handler definitions to add to the A98toBase24 Terminal Handler Library can either be developed by the customer and placed in the library or developed by TSS.
